Meri-ka-re

Meri-Ka-Re ( c.2100 BC)

Meri-Ka-Re was king of Egypt . It is believed that he received some instructions from his father as a guide to personal behaviour, conduct and social commitment. A couple of instructions are given below.

• A man remains over after death, and his deeds are placed beside him in heaps.
• Be a craftsman in speech, so that thou mayest be strong; for the tongue is a sword to a man, and speech is more valorous than any fighting.
